Luxury Modular kitchen designs

Luxury Modular kitchen designs have changed how we perceive the functionality of a space that is the heart of any home. Every little detail can be designed to perfection, from cabinets to the complete layout of the space.

When we think of trends that resonate with this year, designing for everyday life comes to us. Whether it is developing all the moody kitchens that scream drama or it is laying out all the tried and tested staples, we think kitchens are areas with maximum scope to go all out and create the best that could be!

As more and more materials pour into the industry, our choices in terms of design and upcoming trends for luxury kitchen design have also vastly expanded. This is why we thought we would share some of our favorite trends with you!

1. A blend of textures

A blend of textures

Earlier kitchens have been designed with a one-Colour palette or a single material being highlighted. This is no longer the case with modern modular kitchens. We have been mixing wood marble and different colour tones to create that perfect statement our clients usually look for.

The new trend that we have experimented with highly recently for ultra modern luxury modern kitchen design, is an eclectic mix of textures and colours put together in one space.

2. Closed, Yet Open Spaces

Closed, yet open spaces for Modern kitchen

Open layouts have increasingly taken up a major part of the interior design trends we have been seeing for some time for modular kitchens. We hardly come across enclosed common spaces inside homes, like it is a thing of the past.

The open look is also being aided by shelves in place of built-in cabinetry, rendering a more organic look to an already ultra modern luxury modern kitchen design

3. Go big, go bold

Go big, go bold

Many are often afraid to experiment in modern luxury elegant kitchen design because you expect a lot of functionality, but there’s still a lot of scope. Who would imagine a marble hood over a statement cooking range? That’s the kind of look we like to go for when it comes to adding bold touches.

It is when you truly decide to go bold with the entire palette of the space, that is when a statement kitchen comes across. There’s really no horizon here, you could do enlarged wallpapers or go all white.

4. Better appliances, better layout

Better appliances, better layout

The working triangle isn’t the extent of technicality that is most often a question when designing a kitchen. Our clients have been coming to us, asking for more spaces for their small appliances or even bigger ones like a beverage cooler or wine rack.

Post covid, many of us have learned to enjoy the dining experience at home which has eventually given a push to more and better appliances in the kitchen. We have been looking at some of the most innovative appliances since then, that meet storage needs while making the modern kitchen design luxurious

5. Design is all about comfort

Design is all about comfort

Like we said, just the working triangle isn’t the extent of luxury modern kitchen designs. Sometimes, we even let go of the theory to design according to the habits of our clients. Custom made luxury furniture is definitely something to consider when designing focused on habits and comfort zones.

Of course, Kitchen Vastu, functionality and the overall layout of the home play a key role here, but we try not to limit ourselves to the conventional. It is also often said that the kitchen is the heart of a home, which is why our clients always say we want a kitchen we can hang out in.

Hence, comfort isn’t really a trend or an idea, it’s an ideology.

6. Sustainability is the new trend in town

Sustainability is the new trend in town for Modern kitchen design

We have talked about sustainability many times as a home interior design company, for our homes are a major part of where the energy is being consumed. This puts us forward to take a step in the right direction.

The idea is to just bring in elements of nature, let the outdoors in and reduce our footprint alongside. Making conscious decisions in terms of materials and lighting is a good step in the green direction. Especially for our turnkey interiors, we make it a point to make every decision with a choice that enhances the sustainability of the home.

7. A balance of serenity

A balance of serenity in modern kitchen

Being the high-traffic area of the home and often also the focus of the rest of the spaces, we believe that the bigger picture should look at it as a space that flows.

There are often many things happening around the kitchen, which is why we feel the need to add a touch of serenity to it, through plants, lighter materials, warm wood and comfortable furniture.

As luxury interior designer in Gurgaon, we can assure you that true luxury in a kitchen is functionality and comfort.

8. Make it feel like home

Make kitchen feel like home

Any kitchen should feel like it’s inviting you in, through its warm details, and comfortable furniture, like it, is a true living space. As designers, we feel it is our duty to induce that little touch of warmth into the kitchens we design for our clients.

Warm wood stains, more homely colours that elevate the mood, more green, plants,  collectibles, and just enough crockery visible to the eyes, all of these are ways to make the kitchen more homely and the true heart of a home. We also like to add artwork if the space allows taking the kitchen from being a simple workspace to the place everyone hangs out in.

9. Let light fixtures shine

Let light fixtures shine in Kitchen design

Enlarged light fixtures are a trend we love to follow! Just general lighting isn’t enough to uplift a kitchen, accent lighting can definitely do the trick.

Our tip is to hang pendants over the island or have a single fixture in the centre of the kitchen. For an asymmetrical kitchen where an island isn’t the centre then a cluster of smaller lights is a great idea to have in your pocket.

10. Hardware takes centre stage

Hardware takes centre stage in Modern kitchen

Modern kitchen design luxurious minimal ideas can be seen without much hardware really but we think hardware, picked as the right accent can really do a lot for the kitchen.

Most often the only accent in a kitchen is the shiny handles. You could have brass fixtures, the tallest of handles on your tall cabinets or a mix of finishes throughout. We like to match them with fixtures, like taps or even appliances to an extent.

11. Islands to the rescue

Islands to the rescue

Islands have become the thing that all of our clients want in our kitchen. As interior designers, we love a kitchen with an island because they really focus on the design elements in the entire space. There’s of course more to explore and bring into the kitchen as well, and let’s not forget more storage!

Bigger islands are good to have and something we love to do in our turnkey projects where we are taking care of everything from the pooja room Vastu to execution on site.

12. Lastly, don’t forget to style!

Modern kitchen design style

We can’t put enough importance on styling your kitchen as well. With ongoing trends, many homeowners have become accustomed to styling coffee tables, consoles and their homes in general. The styling quotient should also be brought into kitchens.

The idea is to not have the kitchen as a space where you just cook, it is where the family can hang out. So, have a fruit basket, fresh flowers, a bowl full of vegetables and more on the kitchen counters, and watch your kitchen come to life.

How we design kitchens today has changed in many ways, we believe our clients have more understanding now of what they want from the space. We help them further understand what they can get from having a kitchen that just makes sense for their daily essentials.

Trends and ideas often come across when we are able to make sense of what all could a space really be, as a part of our home.
